The Kansas and Archdiocese estimates are based upon the approximate number of surgical abortions reported by the State of Kansas in 2004. The numbers other than surgical abortions are similar ratios to those reported in the information by Eternal Life.  

The importance of the numbers of infant homicides (abortions) is not based upon the precision of the numbers, which are only estimates. Rather, the importance is to convey a sense of the real magnitude of the problem of the killing of our children. As you can see, surgical abortions are only a relatively small percentage of the total infant homicides.
